Your Privacy is important to me. In this Privacy Policy, I’ll disclose how I collect and use personal information, and what rights/options you have over the information that I collect.

1. Who Am I

My website address is: is a personal development and lifestyle blog by Julie Dargan. I inspire women to find relief in their menopause journey through the content on my blog, and through our engagement with social media and other online platforms. I also offer e-courses and weight loss programs.

2. What Personal Data I Collect And Why I Collect It

I only collect information about you if I have a reason to do so – for example, to provide my website’s services, to communicate with you, or to make improvement to my website’s function.

I collect information in three ways:

  1. If and when you provide information to me,
  2. Automatically through operating my website’s services,
  3. And from outside sources.

When visitors leave comments on the site, I collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.


If you provide me with, e-mail, or upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Contact forms

When you fill out a contact form on my site, I collect the data that you type into the form including your name and e-mail address, as well as any other information you relay to me via the text field(s), drop-down or check-box options in the form.


If you leave a comment on my site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, I will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, I will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select "Remember Me", your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Member Account Profiles

If you become a member of my site, I collect your username, password, first and last names, and IP address for the purposes of granting you access to premium content on the site that you have purchased.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

All content, products, and services on my website are intended for general audiences and are NOT directed to children. I do not knowingly permit children under age 13 (in Australia) or age 16 (in the EEA) to register for any content, product or service that I offer. I do not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information about users under age 13 (in Australia) or age 16 (in the EEA), except as permitted by law.

3. How And Why I Use Information

Purposes And Legal Basis For Using Information

I use information about you as mentioned above and for the purposes listed below:

  • To provide my website’s services, for example, to set up and maintain your membership account and to deliver products/services that you purchase through the website in accordance with our Terms of Service;
  • To further develop and improve my website’s services by adding new features that I think my users will enjoy;
  • To monitor and analyze trends and better understand how users interact with my website, which helps me to improve the website and makes it easier to use;
  • To measure, gauge, and improve the effectiveness of my advertising, and better understand user retention and attrition–for example, I may analyze how many individuals purchased a product/s after receiving a marketing message;
  • To monitor and prevent any problems with my website, protect the security of my website, detect and prevent fraudulent transactions and other illegal activities, fight spam, and protect the rights and property of and others, which may result in me declining a transaction or the use of my website;
  • To communicate with you, for example through an email, about offers and promotions offered by and others I think will be of interest to you, solicit your feedback, or keep you up to date on my website’s services and products; and
  • To personalize your experience using my website, provide content recommendations, target my marketing messages to groups of my users (for example, those in a certain geography), and serve relevant advertisements.

4. How I Share Information

I do not sell my users’ private personal information. I share information about you in the limited circumstances spelled out below and with appropriate safeguards on your privacy:

Legal Requests: I may disclose information about you in response to a subpoena, court order, or other governmental request.

To Protect Rights, Property, and Others: I may disclose information about you when I believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the property or rights of third parties, or the public at large. For example, if I have a good faith belief that there is an imminent danger of death or serious physical injury, I may disclose information related to the emergency without delay.

Business Transfers: In connection with any merger, sale of company assets, or acquisition of all or a portion of my business by another company, or in the event that goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information would likely be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. If any of these events were to happen, this Privacy Policy would continue to apply to your information and the party receiving your information may continue to use your information, but only consistent with this Privacy Policy.

Aggregated or De-Identified Information: I may share information that has been aggregated or reasonably de-identified, so that the information could not reasonably be used to identify you. For instance, I may publish aggregate statistics about the use of our website’s services and we may share a hashed version of your email address to facilitate customized ad campaigns on other platforms.

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Collection of Personal Financial Information by a Payment Service. I use third party payment services (Stripe and PayPal) to enable you to purchase products or make payments through my website. When making a payment, you may be directed to a page operated by that Payment Service. Any information that you provide to a Payment Service will be subject to the applicable Payment Service’s privacy policy, rather than this Privacy Policy. I have no control over, and are not responsible for, any Payment Service’s use of information collected through any Payment Service.

5. How Long I Retain Your Data

I will retain your information for the period necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy unless a longer retention period is required or allowed by law.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on my website, I also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Remember that even after you cancel your account, or if you ask me to delete your personal information, copies of some information from your account may remain viewable in some circumstances where, for example, you have shared information with social media or other services. Because of the nature of caching technology, your account may not be instantly inaccessible to others. I may also retain backup information related to your account on my server for some time after cancellation or your request for deletion, for fraud detection or to comply with applicable law or my internal security or recordkeeping policies. It may  not always be possible to completely remove or delete all of your information due to technical constraints or, contractual, financial, or legal requirements.

If you subscribe to my e-mail newsletter, or otherwise opt-in to electronic communication from me, I will retain your name and e-mail address indefinitely in order to send you communications that you have opted in to.

6. What Rights You Have Over Your Data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data I hold about you, including any data you have provided to me. You can also request that I erase any personal data I hold about you. This does not include any data I am obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

If you are located in certain countries, including those that fall under the scope of the European General Data Protection Regulation (AKA the “GDPR”), data protection laws give you rights with respect to your personal data, subject to any exemptions provided by the law, including the rights to:

  • Request access to your personal data;
  • Request correction or deletion of your personal data;

  • Request that I limit my use and processing of your personal data; and

You can usually access, correct, or delete your personal data by sending me a request via email. EU individuals also have the right to make a complaint to a government supervisory authority.

You have several choices available when it comes to the information that I may collect about you:

Limit The Information That You Provide: If you have an account with me, you can choose not to provide the optional account information, or other profile information. Please keep in mind that if you do not provide this information, certain features of my website may not be accessible to you.

Opt-Out of Electronic Communications: You may opt out of receiving any and all messages from me. If you subscribe to my e-mail newsletter, you can click on the “Unsubscribe” link at the bottom of every e-mail I send. Additionally, you can manually contact me to request to be opted out of any and/or all communication.

If you opt out of certain messages, I may still send you other messages, like those about your account and legal notices, or responses to requests for information that you send us prior to, or after, you’ve opted out of of electronic communications.

Set Your Browser to Reject Cookies: You can choose to set your browser to remove or reject browser cookies before visiting, with the drawback that certain features of the website may not function properly without the aid of cookies.

Close Your Account: If you have purchased my membership services and no longer wish to use my website, or keep your account, you can close your membership account by sending me a request for account deletion via email.

Please keep in mind that I may continue to retain your information after closing your account, as described in How Long I Keep Information above–for example, when that information is reasonably needed to comply with (or demonstrate our compliance with) legal obligations such as law enforcement requests, or reasonably needed for our legitimate business interests.

8. How I Protect Your Data takes reasonable measures to help protect information about you from loss, theft, misuse, and unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction.

This includes hosting my site with the latest encryption technology, and using best practices to safeguard against hacking and data breaches.

However, no one can guarantee the complete safety of your information online since the Internet is not a 100% secure environment.

9. Additional Information

Changes to this Privacy Policy. I may update this Privacy Policy at any time by posting the most recent version of it on my website, along with the date the new Privacy Policy takes effect. If I make any material changes to this Privacy Policy in the way I collect, use, and/or share personal information through my website in a manner that expand my rights to use the personal information I have already collected from you, I will notify you and provide you with a choice about my future use of that information.

Location of Data. My website is hosted in and managed from Australia. If you are a user located outside Australia you understand and consent to having any personal information (which may include information collected through the use of cookies and other technologies, as described above) processed in Australia or in any other country in which I engage service providers. Australian and other countries’ data protection laws may not be the same as those in your jurisdiction. In certain circumstances, courts, law enforcement agencies, regulatory agencies, or security authorities in Australia may be entitled to access your personal information.

Third-Party Sites. If you click on or interact with a hyperlink or advertisement that you find on my website, you may leave my website or send information to a different website. My Privacy Policy does not apply to your interactions with third-party websites, even if you find a link to them on or access them through my website, and so you should read the privacy policy of the third-party provider to see how your personal information will be treated on its site.
